How can I change my donation or update my payment method? The date you join as a monthly sustainer will be the date you are charged each month. Legislative advocacy is an essential part of our work and gifts from our Guardians of Liberty allow us the greatest flexibility in our work and to respond to the most urgent needs. This is because donations in support of legislative advocacy (supporting specific bills that enhance civil liberties protections or opposing bills that seek to erode them) are not tax deductible. Gifts to the ACLU's Guardian of Liberty monthly giving program are not tax deductible. Your monthly pledge will automatically renew your ACLU membership, so you won't have to worry about renewing as long as your pledge is active. As a Guardian of Liberty will I still need to renew my membership?
