The 8-12x scope doesn't introduce more wobble (it's the same), except at 12x, the wobble is most noticable because you're zoomed in. When compensating, the bullet arrives at the target at a vertical angle (not much) but you should see the x-ray show a slightly more down angle (instead of a flat angle), but again, not much from what I've seen. At 300 yd's you would need to be over the back. They aren't like shooting a shotgun w/ slug. At 400 m you need to raise over the back. The 270 and 7mm mag shoot flat out to about 250m (ish). Using the lever action scope, placing the bottom of the redicle squarely on the animal is "what I should have done!". 223 wouldn't drop that much at the same range, maybe no more that 8 inches (20 cm), not that much "in-game".ĮDIT. A fallow deer stands at the shoulder about 80-90 cm (IRL), so the bullet did indeed drop. In game, here is a screenshot (below) of hitting a Fallow deer at 264m while aiming at the animals shoulder (with a 30-30). IRL, a 30-30 will drop about 24 inches (60 cm) at 300 yards.
